something strange is brewing at Boulevard....

This October, the Tours & Rec Center presents BOOlevard, a spine-tingling series of unfortunate events to celebrate spooky season. Creep up the stairs (if you dare) for a frightening fourth floor experience, complete with witchy brews and quivering Quirks, a specialty menu of tasty tricks and treats, eerie shuffleboard courts, and cobwebs that will send even a spider scurrying. With enough events to fill the Twilight Zone, there’s something for all haunts of life at BOOlevard!

This 21 and over (with the exception of Tunesday, Tank-or-Treat Bingo, and Halloween day)  event series runs October 24th through All Hallow’s Eve in the Rec Deck, with hours varying per evening. Check out our events below for more information, tickets, and specials.

Tunesday with 90.9 The Bridge & Freight Train Rabbit Killer

Tuesday, 10/24

On Tuesday, October 24th, we’re hosting a weird and wonderful Tunesday! Join us and our friends at 90.9 The Bridge for a LIVE broadcast of the Eight One Sixty with host Chris Haghirian, followed by a free all-ages live show by etherial cult favorite Freight Train Rabbit Killer.  Broadcast kicks off at 6 on the Rec Deck, free show follows at 7.

More about Freight Train Rabbit Killer:

"Kris Bruders and Mark Smeltzer have combined their creative alter egos to tell dark, frightening musical stories as the besieging Americana duo Freight Train Rabbit Killer. Bruders embodies Freight Train, a vigilante determined to ruthlessly eradicate the world of its corrupt powers. With the aid of his bristling slide guitar, Freight Train wails doomy Delta blues with a shiver-inducing authority. Between the natural and spiritual realms exists a rabbit-like shaman who holds supernatural powers. Smeltzer assumes the Rabbit Killer role by conjuring the eerie undertones of folk and bluegrass, often with instruments he created out of found objects. The fusion of these two musicians and their personas is where the story takes shape, but they pull the audience into their shadowy, pernicious center with transcendental live performances." - Michelle Bacon, The Bridge 909 News
