Imperial pilsners are not often associated with brettanomyces, but we gave it a go, creating something unique and beautiful. The clean, transparent style is transformed, showing bright but earthy aromas of tropical fruits and caramelized pineapple with a wide range of complex flavors imparted by this untamed wild yeast.
Aroma – Earthiness/brett funk, floral, black pepper, bready malt sweetness
Malt – Bready/biscuity
Hops – Floral/spicy
Balance – Brettanomyces character, malt
Body – Light to medium
Alcohol by Volume – 7.5%
IBUs – 28
Color – 9 EBC
Steak au Poivre, drunken mussels, washed rind/aromatic cheeses, crab cakes, earthy mushrooms
Brett Pils will be available exclusively on draft in bars and restaurants in the Greater Kansas City Area, Lawrence, Kansas and Columbia, Missouri where you typically see Boulevard Limited Release beers like Saison Brett, Rye on Rye on Rye or Love Child Blends.
