Save The Earth

In 2019, Space Camper Cosmic IPA blasted onto the scene. While her origin story is a mystery shrouded in an enigma, her mission is clear – to Save the Earth, the Only Planet with Beer.

Her assignment aligns with the environmental practices to which Boulevard Brewing Company adheres every day, from recycling to zero-landfill to energy production and conservation. With Space Camper’s help, we will take our continuing responsibility to protect and conserve the environment beyond the bounds of the brewery!

With your purchase of Space Camper or any of her ever-growing cadre of friends, you have enlisted in the fight! To date, Boulevard has helped restore more than 250 acres of forestlands through the planting of more than 70,000 trees, which are projected to create an estimated impact of removing more than 100 tons of air pollutants over the next 40 years. We hope you will embrace Space Camper’s mission to Save the Earth, the Only Planet with Beer – and the only planet we have.

EARTH MONTH 2026!

Boulevard Brewing Co. is excited to announce a series of sustainability-focused initiatives throughout April in celebration of Earth Month, which will showcase ongoing partnerships with the Kansas City Royals, the Arbor Day Foundation and Kansas City Parks & Rec (KC Parks).

BLVD + KC ROYALS

We’re excited to share that we’re once again partnering with the Kansas City Royals for Moonshot tree planting. Every 420-foot home run means 420 trees planted in American forests through the Arbor Day Foundation. Last season, we planted more than 10,000 trees.

GET INVOLVED

April 1 to 15, complete a volunteer parks cleanup with Kansas City Parks and Recreation and receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the Royals Earth Day game on April 22 at 1:10 pm. Up to 400 tickets are available in Section 420 at Kauffman Stadium.

JOIN US AT THE K

April 22 is also Space Camper Day. The first 7,500 fans 21 and older receive color-changing sunglasses, plus samples and a chance to win a 3-foot Space Camper bobblehead at the Space Camper Space Station Bar.

VOLUNTEER WITH US

Join our Penn Valley Park cleanup on April 16 from 3 to 5 pm, then head to the Boulevard Beer Hall for a complimentary first drink. It all leads into KC Parks Earth Week Beautification Events April 18 & 22.

PLANT A TREE

Nebraska residents can register for a free tree at get.arborday.org/boulevard from April 1 to 24, with pickup in Omaha and Lincoln at the end of April.

5,000 Trees Planted in Six Rivers National Forest

We’re honored to share that in partnership with The Stand restaurants in California, their Space Camper IPA program, and the Arbor Day Foundation, 5,000 trees were planted in Six Rivers National Forest in 2025!

3,000 Trees Planted – Nebraska National Forest

The rugged and forested landscape of the Nebraska National Forest’s Pine Ridge District is a rare and wonderful treat amid the central plains. The forest draws in recreation seekers and hunting enthusiasts alike and serves as an economic driver for the local community. But multiple catastrophic wildfires have blazed through the National Forest, wiping out much of the area’s ponderosa pine stands. In fact, it is estimated that less than 15% of the original forest cover remains. The intensity of these fires left large burn areas that are incapable of natural regeneration, and reforestation efforts are critical to reestablishing tree cover and preserving the native landscape. Boulevard directly supported this project by planting 3,000 trees from the overall project.

Some project highlights: 3,000 trees planted, 17 acres restored, 3.87 tons of air pollutants removed*, 24k gallons of water avoided runoff.

*Estimated benefit impact metrics projected over a 40-year outlook period, calculated by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Restoring forests in NE Minnesota

During the Spring 2025 planting season, mix of more than one million eastern white pine, white spruce, red pine, yellow birch, Jack pine, and other tree species were planted in forests of need throughout Northeastern Minnesota. Boulevard directly supported the planting of 12,000 trees from the overall project. The continued impact of this project will help to reestablish forests that have been devastated by historic logging practices, wildfires, and pest infestations. As these trees grow, they will provide vital habitat for a wide range of threatened and endangered wildlife species, including the Canadian lynx, gray wolf, northern long-eared bat, piping plover, and rufa red knot. These trees will also help improve regional watershed quality and waterway temperatures for native fish and aquatic species such as the coaster brook trout and lake sturgeon.

Some Project Highlights: 12k Trees planted, 36 Acres Restored, 16,621 metric tons of co2 sequestered*, 7.47 tons of air pollutants removed*—89k gallons of avoided water runoff*.

*Estimated benefit impact metrics projected over a 40-year outlook period, calculated by the Arbor Day Foundation

Space Camper X Cosmosphere

We’re honored to be partnering with The Cosmosphere and the Kansas City Royals as we celebrate all things space!

Blasting things out of the atmosphere wouldn’t be possible without people who have a strong background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).  Do you want to learn how things get to space? Check out the awesome educational opportunities at the Cosmosphere, a leader in youth STEM education and a world-class space museum in Hutchinson, Kansas!

Partners in Parks

In 2025, Boulevard Brewing Co., joined KC Parks’ “Partners in Parks” program. As a partner, Boulevard is adopting neighboring Penn Valley Park, committing to a monthly employee litter cleanup, and offering specials to volunteers throughout the year.

Moonshots: In partnership with the Kansas City Royals and the Arbor Day Foundation

For the 2026 season, every time a Royals player hits a “moonshot,” or a home run of 420 feet or more, Boulevard and the Royals will plant 420 trees through the Arbor Day Foundation in American U.S. forests in need of ecological restoration.

In 2025, Boulevard Brewing Co., joined forces with the Arbor Day Foundation and the Kansas City Royals, to plant thousands of trees throughout the Royals’ 2025 season. Our initiative with the Arbor Day Foundation is directly tied to our relationship with the Kansas City Royals: Every time a Royals player hits a “moonshot,” or a home run of 425 feet or more, Boulevard and the Royals will plant 425 trees through the Arbor Day Foundation in American forests.

Boulevard Prairie at Lake Springfield 2024

Back in 2023, in partnership with the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, Boulevard Brewing Co. + Space Camper sponsored a 4.5-acre plot of land to grow a wildflower prairie AKA a Beer Prairie, now in its second spring. What were little-used sections of park lawns are being replaced by native wildflowers which help restore wildlife habits and relieve pressure on erosion problems.

Tree Planting in 2024

Space Camper supports tree planting efforts with the Arbor Day Foundation. Founded in 1972, the Arbor Day Foundation is the world’s largest member nonprofit dedicated to planting trees. Over 50 years they’ve planted 500 million trees, and they’re just getting started!

Bridging the Gap to Green

In 2023, we donated $5,000 to Bridging The Gap and teaming up to highlight simple actions we all can take to green up our communities, protect our water, and conserve energy. Based in our hometown, BTG’s mission is to make the greater Kansas City region a more sustainable place to live, work, and play – and engages more than 1,400 volunteers annually in hands-on, planet-saving action.

Giving Back to Mother Nature

In the fall of 2021 we partnered with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department to plant 27 trees at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Square Park. This is a part of Boulevard’s sustainability commitment and Space Camper’s mission, “Save the Earth! It’s the only planet with beer!” About a dozen brewery employees spent their afternoon digging holes and placing the trees in their new home. We look forward to visiting the park and seeing the trees grow for years to come.
