10 brats or sausages
24 oz. Boulevard Pale Ale
½ stick of butter
½ onion, chopped
For serving: buns, mustard, caramelized onion, sauerkraut, etc.
Set your grill up for indirect grilling by dumping coals under half the grill grate. Place a 13 x 9 inch foil pan on the side away from the coals. Fill with beer and add butter and onion. Close the lid and allow the liquid to warm up for 5 minutes.
Stir the liquid and add the brats to the pan and close the lid. Cook for 25 minutes, opening occasionally to turn the brats for even cooking. Sear the brats directly over the fire and serve immediately.
