KC Pils Partners program: The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Boulevard Brewing Co. has been filled with hometown Kansas City pride ever since the first keg of Pale Ale was sold all the way back in 1989. Over the past 31 years we have made countless friends around this fine city and decided it was time to shine a light on some of our favorite people and places. In that spirit, we proudly introduce the launch of our newest initiative. The KC Pils Partners program was designed to celebrate the many important connections between Boulevard and our hometown, giving back to a variety of worthy organizations.

To kick it off, we partnered with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. This magical hub of artistic energy sits on Oak Street just east of the Plaza, where giants leave their enormous shuttlecocks all over the lawn, metallic trees grow out of the ground and thousands of years’ worth of human creativity wait to inspire you and your imagination.

KC Pils is our take on the traditional American Lager. Crisp and clean, our pilsner utilizes 100% malt and a noble hop finish to recreate one of the world’s most beloved styles of beer. We wrote the recipe to pay homage to the trailblazing brewers creating a brewing scene in KC right around the time the Nelson-Atkins first opened its doors in 1933.

Our designers took inspiration from the museum and its works to create instantly recognizable new packaging for KC Pils, prominently featuring the iconic shuttlecock. Beginning in May and continuing throughout the summer, this new look will ship in place of everyday KC Pils packaging, with a per-case contribution going to the museum and the arts in KC. Want to give back to your city? Buy KC Pils and you instantly become a museum benefactor. Wow! Look at you!
