About Our Beers

Our message is in the bottle.

All Boulevard beers begin with specially selected, carefully inspected ingredients. Our brewing process is designed to maximize flavor, from the brewhouse to the bottle, and every step along the way is continuously evaluated for its contribution to flavor and quality.

BOTTLE CONDITIONING

All of Boulevard’s ales are bottle conditioned, an old-world brewing tradition that creates a secondary fermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer that tastes fresher, better, longer.

To bottle condition our beers, we add a small amount of yeast and sugar to the beer just before packaging. The bottled beer is then held for two full weeks in our temperature-controlled warehouse to allow the process to unfold. By the time it’s finished, much of the residual oxygen—an implacable enemy of beer—has been consumed, dramatically enhancing the stability and shelf life of our beers, and producing a remarkable and otherwise unattainable depth of flavor.
