We have several new beers headed your way as we wrap up summer and head towards fall. While we don't have specific release dates set just yet, we want to share brief descriptions and offer general target dates. Stay tuned as we plan to share more information in the coming weeks.

Collaboration No. 5 - Tropical Pale Ale

Combining Cigar City Brewing’s expertise with tropical fruit flavors and Boulevard’s love of pale ales, Collaboration No. 5 – Tropical Pale Ale begins with a base of soft pilsner malt layered with Maris Otter, Munich and caramel malts. Huge late hopping with a blend of Mosaic, Citra, Lemondrop and Azacca lends bright flavors of mango, pear, blueberry and citrus to a pale ale featuring slightly toasted biscuit and caramel/toffee notes. Refreshing acidity and tropical fruit flavor are imparted by infusing the wort with freshly sliced grapefruit and passion fruit juice at the conclusion of the boil. At 7.3 ABV and 55 IBUs, Collaboration No. 5 – Tropical Pale Ale finishes slightly tart with bright citrus character from dry-hopping with Lemondrop, Azacca and Pacific Jade hops.

Collaboration No. 5 - Tropical Pale Ale will be released in 4 packs of 12 ounce bottles and 1/6 bbl kegs beginning on September 29th in the Greater Kansas City Area. Other regions will follow soon.

Imperial Stout X – Tart Cherry

As a base beer, Imperial Stout serves as a ridiculously sturdy starting point for layering flavors by incorporating new ingredients or barrel aging methods. Imperial Stout has a huge grain bill featuring several types of malted barley, wheat, rye, oats, and spelt. Robust grain and chocolate/coffee flavors are counterbalanced by date and plum notes from Scottish yeast. For Imperial Stout X – Tart Cherry, our brewers blended in over 24,000 pounds of cherry puree and 1,600 gallons of brewhouse soured beer to lend cherry flavor and a tart, refreshing acidity.

Available exclusively in 750 ml bottles, Imperial Stout X – Tart Cherry will be released in 750 ml bottles starting in the Greater Kansas City Area on September 29th with other cities to follow soon.

Smokestack Series Great Eight

For the first time ever, we’re bottling Imperial Stout in 12 ounce bottles. The 12 ounce bottles will be available exclusively in a new Smokestack Series sample pack also featuring 2 bottles each of Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale, The Calling and Tell-Tale Tart.

Deliveries of the Great Eight started in Kansas City on October 7th and will continue throughout the week. Other cities that normally see our Smokestack Series beers should see the Great Eight soon.

Deep Dive – Wet-Hopped Ale

Brewed to coincide with the harvest of Centennial hops, Deep Dive will be a Smokestack Series Limited Release beer available exclusively on draft. A simple, yet sturdy base composed solely of two role pale malt allows bold citrus/fruity/grass notes contributed by wet Centennial hops to shine. The hops were delivered to the brewery and added to the wort kettle within hours of harvest.

Deliveries of kegs of Deep Dive started in the Kansas City area on October 6th and will continue throughout the week. Other cities that normally see our Smokestack Series Limited Release beers should expect to see Deep Dive soon.
