We’re just a few days into 2014, but it’s already shaping up to be an exciting time for beer in Kansas City. 2013 saw Green Room Burgers & Beer, The Big Rip Brewing Company, Cinder Block Brewery, and Rock & Run Brewery open their doors and Kansas City Bier Company and Martin City Brewing Company are both very close themselves. The really cool thing about the beer industry is that we don’t view each other as competition. The way we see it, we’re all on the same team. We drink beers together, share ideas (both good and bad), and enjoy some good ole fellowship with our beer brothers and sisters.

As far as things go at Boulevard Brewing Co, we’ve officially joined the Duvel Moortgat family and couldn’t be more proud to be associated with Duvel, Vedett, Maredsous, Liefmans, Bel Pils, La Chouffe, Bernard, De Koninck, and Brewery Ommegang. We’re all very excited for the opportunity to share our beers with an even wider audience as we continue to grow and brew awesome beer with help from our new friends.

Our production calendar of special beers has been announced previously, but we’ll be releasing the following special beers in 2014:

- Rye-on-Rye (January)

- Chocolate Ale (February)

- Grainstorm Black Rye IPA (April)

- Saison-Brett (May)

- Love Child No. 4 (June)

- Two Jokers (July)

- Bourbon Barrel Quad (October)

- Harvest Dance Wheat Wine (November)

- Imperial Stout (December)

We also have plans to brew our fourth collaboration beer in addition to a 25th Anniversary Beer. Details on those two beers have yet to be finalized at this point, but they definitely won’t disappoint.
